The rest of the dining room

Look at these cuties that showed up in the dining room.....and they brought their own food.  They sit on the side board along with a pair of peacock lamps.

And here is  a close up of one of the peacocks that just jumped in my cart at HomeGoods a few weeks ago.

Above the side board, I have one of my many prints from  Charleston artist Madeline Carol, as you can see she does ghost images.  She always has ghost like images in her paintings showing now and who in the past is looking at what is going on now.  This one is called the 'Family Album', it shows a mother and daughter reading a book while older "ghost" relatives look on.  This is an signed artist proof with signa, which is the gold seal at the bottom.  If you have ever been to Charleston this home is on the battery behind White Point Garden, you can see the ocean thru the window.

On the other side of the room I have a Chocolate Table.  Back in the day when chocolate was very expensive wealthy families would display their chocolate inside the table as a show of wealth.  No choclate in mine...but I do have some things that are special to me.

On top of the Chocolate table is a thrifted owl, a pumkin and an acrylic lamp with some bling.  This corner can be dark, so I needed to add some lighter items.

On the only  large wall in the room I have a large mirror, flower prints and sconces.

I am on the look at for a rug for this room and some different sconces  The room will stay like this till thanksgiving.  Then she will be dressed for Christmas.  Thanks for stopping by to have a look.  I almost have the living room  completed.

Make it an amazing day. I am  joining Ann as she guest host Open House while Sherry is away. And Kate at Flaunt it Friday.

Updated Dining Room

Hello Ya'll....Hope everybody had an amazing weekend, and if you where in the path of Irene I hope today finds you and yours well.

As promised, I have some pictures of my updated dining room with the new chandelier, medallion and new hard wood floors.  I am so excited about this room, it is almost where I want it to be (for now, wink).

The new chandy, medallion and a peek at the new floor.  I feel like it's my birthday or something! I love the pretty  shadows that are being cast on the ceiling.  Yes, that is a fall arrangement on the table.  I decided with this broken leg to go ahead with some of my fall  things. Otherwise, I would be repacking the things I just unpacked.  Below is the close up on the fall basket I put together.  The faux leaves and pumpkins will be replaced will real in a couple of weeks.

Pretty shadows....sigh...

Another showing the shadows playing on the trey ceiling.

The new floor is Asian Hickory by Santa Fe in cinnamon.  It is hand carved 5" planks in a rich red with black.  I am loving that now the first floor is not chopped up by carpet in the formal rooms and the family room.  It really does make the area flow better and seems even larger.

The second picture really shows how rich the colors are.  The floor really goes well with my cherry dining room furniture and the cherry cabinets in the kitchen.  And it really pops with the newly painted island in black.

Well, if you are still with my - thanks! I am just loving the dining room and wanted to show you the new chandy and floors.  I will show you the rest of the room in a day or two.

Make it an amazing day!
