Thrifty Finds

Hope everyone is enjoying the Labor Day weekend.  Mine has been great so far. Finally got to see "The Help" yesterday, like everyone else - loved it.  We have a neighborhood cook out later this afternoon (rain please hold off).  The Mister and J  are doing yard work, so I thought I would share my finds for this week.

This cute little picture was half price, so only $2.00, I really liked the frame which is really why I got it.

Next was this pair of sconces (still with the plastic on them!).  I really liked the shape of them.  For $3.00 could not pass them up.  They will probably get a paint job and go to the master bedroom.  Both of these were sweet little finds from the local GW.  But, I was most excited about these...

A pair of wrought iron candle holders.  These things are heavy - 10-15 pounds each! One is heavily rusted, the other very little rust.  I found them at a fabulous consignment shop, Fun Finds.  The store was featured in Southern Livings February 2011 issue.  I am not affiliated with the shop or being paid to say nice things.  It just a nice, friendly place to shop or to consign items that I am ready to let go.

Pretty, huh?  I know most of ya'll would leave as is, but I might paint them. Here is the other one..

I did google how to make iron rust fast (vinegar & salt), so, I guess,  that means I am still not sure what I am going to do.  Must think on it awhile.  One last picture.  Love them!!

Thanks for stopping by....

Toni

I love the wrought iron candle holders, I tend to like the rusty look but I am sure they will look gorgeous either way!

I think Chase is really going to like his room. I hope it turns out ok...there is not as much out there for boys as there is for girls! Have a great day today! Kristen

All fantastic finds. Aren't you lucky that you get to blog while someone else does the yard work? I'm extremely jealous. :o) I'm usually the one slaving away outside. Hope the rain held off and your day was good.
