The Secretary

Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone has been enjoying their week.  I have not had time to visit with ya'll much this week, just lots of things going on in my neck of the woods.

I thought I would show ya'll my very favorite piece of furniture.  It was a gift from my Mom, and I was so surprised when she offered it to me because she loved it so much.  I can remember when it was delivered she got busy arranging and rearranging little pretties to place inside.  Ummm, I wonder where I got that gene?  I have it in the living room, and just like Mom, I am always moving things around on the shelves!

On the top shelf I have a couple of old Hardy Boy books that belonged to the Mister.  The copyright on them is 1935 and they belonged to his grandfather.  There are a total of six in the collection.  Next to the books with a cute little bird is our initial.  You know every southern house MUST have this somewhere.  Next to that is a pretty candlestick.

On the next shelf I have some faux books with some cute little pumpkins.  The pumpkins came from the Dollar Tree and I still can't believe how nice they look.  Next to the pumpkins is an old vase that belonged to my Grandma - another piece that I treasure. And finally a small decorative box.

On the last shelf is "the golden egg", at least everytime I look at that's what I think. Then  an elephant vase and finally some more Hardy Boy books with a pumpkin.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my favorite piece of furniture.  Have a great day!

I will be joining the following parties:

  5. Your secretary is a treasure...even more so it being your mother's. The gifts we have passed down to us are so much more special...like the secretary and the books. I hope that the dollar tree still had a few pumpkins...those are so cute. I want them too. Trish
